Maker’s Mark Salutes America with Special Red, White and Blue Bottles

There’s no better way to toast America’s birthday this 4th of July than with Maker’s Mark Kentucky straight bourbon whisky – a truly all American spirit. Located in Loretto, KY, the Maker’s Mark distillery is the world’s oldest operating bourbon whisky distillery and a National Historic Landmark.

Kentucky Lemonade
Yield – 1 serving
Ingredients:

* 1 1/2 parts Maker’s Mark
* 1/2 part triple sec
* 4 parts of lemonade
* 2 parts lemon & lime soda

Directions:
Pour Maker’s Mark, triple sec, lemonade and soda into a shaker. Shake and pour over crushed ice.

Maker’s Ice Cream Float
Yield – 2 servings
Ingredients:

* 1 cup of vanilla ice cream
* 1/4 cup Maker’s Mark
* 1 tsp. vanilla extract
* Freshly grated nutmeg (to taste)

Directions:
Combine bourbon, ice cream and vanilla in a blender and process until smooth. Pour into glasses and service with a sprinkle of nutmeg.

The Ultimate Summer Drink – Bourbon Slush

Bourbon Slush
Serves up to 10

Ingredients:
3 cups bourbon
24 oz. frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
12 oz. frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
4 cups strong brewed tea

Directions:
In a 1-1/2-gallon pitcher, mix bourbon, juices and tea. Stir in 3 quarts water. Place in freezer. Stir after 8 hours. Continue to freeze for 2 hours more, and up to 2 days. Defrost 30 minutes before serving. Stir and serve in a mason jar.

Bourbon Cherry Lemonade? Heck Yeah!

Bourbon Cherry Lemonadebourbon cherry lemonade

Ingredients
1 1/2 ounces (3 tablespoons) Woodford Reserve or bourbon of your choice
1 ounce (2 tablespoons) sweet cherry juice
Lemonade, as needed
Bourbon-soaked maraschino cherry, for garnish (optional)

Method
Fill a Collins glass (or comparably-sized glass) with crushed ice. Combine bourbon, cherry juice and crushed ice in a shaker. Shake vigorously, then strain into Collins glass. Top off with fresh lemonade and garnish with a cherry, if using.

Drink, rinse, repeat. (KOD: Those are my instructions!)

Makes 1 drink.
