Buffalo Trace Opens Camp Buffalo Trace with Bourbon Workshops and Luxury Camping

Frankfort’s historic distillery is running an adults-only summer camp with woodcraft, blind tastings, and a handful of overnight glamping spots on the grounds.

Buffalo Trace Distillery is leaning into summer the way only a Frankfort campus can: with Camp Buffalo Trace, a 21+ day of cooperage-tinged games, tastings, and bourbon know-how — plus a rare overnight in air-conditioned canvas tents on the grounds.

The program turns classic camp energy into whiskey work. Guests can carve a muddler from barrel staves in a whiskey woodcraft workshop, race through a bung-driving relay, team up for blind tasting and Buffalo Trace trivia, then tackle a single-barrel challenge that asks them to sort the same bourbon at different ages.

A limited number of winners also get the overnight: luxury camping with furnished tents, stocked mini-fridges, and the quiet of the distillery after the day crowd leaves. Day camp and day-camp-plus-overnight seats are awarded through an online sweepstakes (no purchase necessary), with camp dates set for August 29 and September 5, 2026.

Sweepstakes entry runs July 14–21, 2026. Details and rules live at buffalotracedistillery.com/camp. It sits alongside Buffalo Trace’s broader summer slate — from the Great Buffalo Chase to backyard concerts — if you’re already planning a Kentucky trail swing.
