Heaven Hill Bottled-in-Bond Double Mash Unites Traditional and Wheated Bourbon
A first-of-its-kind 9-year bonded bourbon blends two-thirds traditional mashbill with one-third wheated — 100 proof, $49.99, arriving August 2026.

Heaven Hill Distillery just found a new trick inside Bottled-in-Bond’s old rules. Heaven Hill Bottled-in-Bond Double Mash — announced mid-July for an August 2026 rollout — unites two-thirds traditional bourbon mashbill (78% corn, 10% rye, 12% malted barley) with one-third wheated bourbon mashbill (68% corn, 20% wheat, 12% malted barley), both aged nine years and bottled at 100 proof.
Master Distiller Conor O’Driscoll frames it as tradition with room to innovate: wheated bourbon isn’t a separate legal class, so Heaven Hill can bond the two styles together into one Kentucky straight bourbon. Official notes pour warm amber with toasted oak, honey, and white pepper on the nose; honey and citrus oil on the palate; caramel and baking spice on the finish.
Suggested retail is $49.99 in limited nationwide quantities — approachable money for a nine-year bond experiment from the distillery that already bottles more bonded whiskey than anyone else in American whiskey. It slots beside Heaven Hill Bottled-in-Bond, the Heritage Collection, and Grain to Glass as another Bardstown argument that bond rules still leave room for curiosity.
